Lakkam Waterfalls
It is actually a five minutes drive from the Munnar to the closest waterfall, Lakkam waterfalls. It is located in the Munnar-Marayoor route, and is surrounded by ‘Vaga trees’. The waterfall originates from the Eravikulam Plateau. Though the stream creates lots of cascades, most of them are inaccessible. But, due to its visual treat, this destination is one of the most preferred destinations for the tourists.




Nyayamakadu Waterfalls
This waterfall is located at a distance of 10 Kms from Munnar.  Nyayamakadu Waterfalls is one of the highest cascading falls in Kerala. It is located on Munnar - Udamalpet road close to the entrance of Eravikulam National Park. It is one of the best waterfalls in Kerala. It is close to the Rajamalai entrance and can be visited with Rajamalai / Eravikulam Park. Trekking is a popular activity here. One can enjoy the marvellous views of surrounding valleys of the Western Ghats including Anamudi and other peaks. October and December is the best time to visit Nyayamakadu Waterfalls.




Attukadu Waterfalls
The waterfall lays 9 km away from the Munnar town, on the way to Pallivasal. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Munnar, ideal for trekking and picnics. Attukadu offers the beauty of water falling from the top of the mountain. The sight of the roaring water and the rolling hills around is something which you can never delete from your memories. This captivating attraction is surrounded by dark jungle and lush green terrains, reachable only through a wooden bridge.




Powerhouse Waterfalls
The screaming sound of this waterfall cascading down a steep rock which is about 2000 meters above sea level can be heard from a distance! The thundering Power House Waterfalls is about 18 km from Munnar, on the way to Thekkady. The verdant Western mountain ranges are the most attractive and beautiful sight that makes this waterfall, an ideal stopover on the way to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The torrents of water plunging down Power House falls is said to emanate from Devikulam, a pastoral hill station few kilometres from Munnar.




Thoovanam Waterfalls
It is located within the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary at a distance of about 18 km from Marayoor. Thoovanam Falls is an excellent place to enjoy the beauty of nature. This waterfall originates from the river Pambar and flows through the sanctuary attracting a lot of nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the waterfalls is a wonderful experience for people who enjoy wildlife as one gets to see wild animals like langurs, elephants, giant Malabar squirrel and a variety of rare flora. For the not so adventurous, the view of the falls from the sanctuary is in itself breathtaking. One can also visit the largest natural sandalwood forests and the ancient burial sites known as Muniyara Dolmens, both at Marayoor while visiting the falls.
